Thursday, October 29th, 2009

The latest iteration of Democrats’ “health care reform” legislation, dubbed NancyCare, is the longest so far, 1990 pages. Basically it is the same as H.R. 3200.

Provisions can be broadly categorized by effect: tax increasing, cost increasing, choice decreasing, hassle increasing, wealth redistributing, and growth punishing. (more…)

At one time, calling Medicare “socialized medicine for the elderly” caused stunned silence in the Congress. Now, if one opposes “socialized medicine,” at least one listener is bound to dare you to say you’re opposed to Medicare. (more…)

Myth 23. Private insurance and self-payment are relics of an oppressive past, confined to the United States and backwater, poorly developed nations.

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

We constantly hear that the United States is the only nation in the “developed,” or “industrialized” world (we no longer say “civilized” world or “free” world) that doesn’t have taxpayer-funded medical care for all. (more…)

Myth 22. “Health care reform” is a moral imperative.

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009
