AAPS Files Amended Complaint in AAPS v. Sebelius

On August 23, AAPS amended its lawsuit to include several new challenges to federal control of physicians and patients.

The amended complaint seeks to vacate aspects of HHS regulations regarding physician PECOS enrollment and NPI registration.   It also asks the court to eliminate the burdensome requirement for physicians who enter into private contracts with Medicare patients to opt out of Medicare.

Doctors Sue to Overturn the Health Care Bill

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) became the first medical society to sue to overturn the newly enacted health care bill, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). AAPS sued Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Talking Points, AAPS Sues in D.C. to Overturn the Health Care Bill

The Association of American Physicians & Surgeons (“AAPS”) sued on March 26th to invalidate the massive health care bill, which passed the House by only 4 votes on a party-line vote (with 34 Democrats voting against it).
