A Message from the Grassroot Grannies...
If you are nearly 65 years old or older, you should be as angry as we are!
Some of us survived smallpox, scarlet fever, whooping cough, and influenza-not to mention the Depression, World War II, rationing, and the Korean War. Then we sent our sons to Viet Nam and had them sold out.
After all that surviving, the government does not consider us capable of looking out for our own best interests. We worked, we saved, and we "made do." What nerve, to say that we can't spend our own money as we see fit!
If we want to see our doctors and pay for it, why should Pete Stark or the bureaucrats care? They sit in their plush offices and say the poor grannies are too dumb to know what is best for them. Well, we want to make our own decisions. We have more chance of being right than the bureaucrats. And if we're wrong, we'll take responsibility for ourselves, just as we have all our lives.
We don't want to have to say "Mother, may I?" to a bureaucrat. And we don't want them sticking their noses into our medical records. If we go to the doctor, we don't even want them to know about it. If we want their help, we'll ask for it.
You want to be able to pay your own doctor without any dumb bureaucratic reporting requirements even if the doctor hasn't "opted out" of Medicare. And you want to be able to have a tax-free Medical Savings Account.WHAT YOU CAN DO
