NewsMax.com: “Limbaugh prosecutor admits records seizure an invasion of privacy”

Medicine Men urge Rush to come out of the closet

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Palm Beach prosecutor DEFENDS actions in legal challenge, including that by AAPS.

2.  Comparing seizure to legal strip search of drug suspect, and that no subpoena needed.

3. Same department lets judge skate on OxyContin “addiction.”

4. Medicine Men challenge Rush to come out of the closet.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Palm Beach County Assistant State Attorney James Martz admitted yesterday that when his office seized the medical records of top talk radio host Rush Limbaugh in November, it was an extreme invasion of privacy.

What is shocking is that the admission was not made to apologize for his actions, but in court to DEFEND his actions in the face of legal challenges, including briefs filed by AAPS and the ACLU supporting Rush’s right to medical privacy.

2. Mr. Martz compared the action to a legally justifiable strip search of a drug suspect, and then tried to explain why that made his actions okay, including the argument that no subpoena was needed.

3. NewsMax.com also reported last week about a Palm Beach County judge who avoided prosecution after admitting an 8-year addiction to OxyContin.

4.  In their weekly column, The Medicine Men (aka Drs. Robert Cihak and Michael Glueck) throw a challenge to Rush: “Feel your pain…Instead of claiming to be a drug addict, why don't you just tell prosecutors to get off your aching back – and neck? Admit you are one of the millions of patients in chronic pain and start taking the legal meds you need….”
