Action now needed immediately
in HOUSE OF REPRESENATIVES in addition to Senate. Urge your Representative to
sign letter by FRIDAY Nov. 12. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Earlier today we sent you an alert
warning about a possible vote in the Senate next week that would appropriate up
to $44 million to fund mandatory psychiatric screening and drugging
recommendations for as many as 60 million children, pregnant women and other
adults through schools and pre-schools. Last September, AAPS lifetime
member, Congressman Ron Paul, M.D. (R-TX) tried to stop this insidious plan by
offering an amendment to the Labor, HHS, and Education Appropriations Act for FY
2005. The amendment received 95 "yes" votes, but it failed to pass. So the House version of the bill
passed. However, Congressman
Paul and several of his colleagues are not giving up. Even if the bill
passes the Senate, it will have to go to a conference committee of both Houses
to hammer out a compromise bill.
So Dr. Paul and his
colleagues have drafted a letter to Chairman Ralph Regula, chairman
of the House Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education
Appropriations, asking for his help. The letter
states: “We respectfully request that the following language be included in the final committee report on the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations bill for fiscal year 2005, or any report accompanying an omnibus bill containing the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education appropriations for fiscal year 2005: ‘None of the funds made available for State
incentive grants for transformation Read the rest of the letter and send the request
to your Congressman, courtesy of
